I will chose to be thankful even in the hard times.

Hebrews 13:15

“Through Jesus,therefore,lets us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise. the fruit of lips that confess His name. Don’t allow yourself to complain about anything, during the different times, be very careful to watch your tongue. Instead of complaining, think of ways you can verbally offer God the sacrifice of thanksgiving Don’t allow yourself to compare yourself with others. Don’t wish that your life was different,God knows whats best for you. The bible says having a thankful heart is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. when we begin to thank GOD for what we have rather than comparing ourselves with others, it opens a door for God’s blessings to flow in us.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-17

“Be joyful always,pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances,for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus”.

Thankfulness is a key to your life. it is the key that turns your situation around because it changes you, your outlook and your attitude. There is power in a thankful heart.

Psalm 116;12-13

The Lord has been mindful of us:

He will bless us;

He will bless the house of lsrael;

He will bless the house of the Munduah’s.

He will bless those who fear the LORD,

Both small and great.

The more l receive from the Father the more He wants to give me. God is personal when it comes to us His beloved children. When you look at the wonders of the Father there’s a lot to be thankful for.

John 10:10

“The thief comes to steal,to kill and to destroy. l have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

I have been in a place of wonder and asking myself what’s up with the issue of color? Coming from a family that has inter-married with foreigners l kept pounding on this thought of color. At first l was all fine with it until l realized that it comes with its price. One of my uncles was married to a wonderful white lady, and for a minute their things were good. A few years down the road l heard they were divorced. Trust you and me l was in total shock then l started asking that question why? I was scared of asking that question but l got the boldness to do so. My mommy told me when you’re getting married there are a lot of things to be considered. What was the reason behind this step? (Motive) l was listening carefully because it’s a sensitive matter. My mom told me, first of all know the kind of person you’re getting married to! Their likes & dislikes,be well informed about your family to be. My uncle had lived in the UK for so many years and he knew his way around people of color. When he decided to marry this white lady he saw something special. They were happy, the kids were awesome & relatives were on fire. They were married for about 20yrs and somehow things fell apart. Everyone in the family was in shock about this sad news. It broke our hearts as a family. In the pre-nup, my uncle lost everything he had worked for. He started from scratch again and we were speechless. The most shocking thing was the stuff that came out after the divorce. The racial discrimination against blacks & l remember being young and l hadn’t gotten it yet. I saw this pattern of events happening to my uncles mostly and they were hurt. I went on to do my personal research about the issue of race and I learnt so many things about race l didn’t know. This put me in a place of asking God,we were made in your image right? why do others feel more special than the others, I kept on asking.

That’s the fuss about color…? The Lord reminded me that everything created in my image is perfect! Anything outside that doesn’t come from Him. His Love therefore is everything & anything that is not hate.

Regardless of the dysfunctional way of this life there’s beauty in all people.

It doesn’t matter who you are, what part of the world you’re from. Black, Yellow, red, or white are all loved by God and so should we. God is love and He is our inspiration to love others inspite of our differences in skin color or cultures.

Love has the power to heal & make bonds. Love unites us all. Love is the greatest of all. Let’s live it out!!!

For as long as l remember, l have had a friend through my childhood and adulthood. We lived 10mins away from each other, grew up together and spent as much time together as possible. We are the same age and it made growing up fun and interesting. We’re a lot alike but we not the same. She was a class ahead of me and l was bothered by it for some time but never did she make me feel less of a person.

We had a children’s cell & all the children in the neighborhood would come over at our house. This was such a beautiful time in our lives and we had each other’s back. As we started growing up things started to change. My friend Brenda and her family had to move. This was really hard for us as a family.

Background

Brenda and l are the same age, born in the same month,date,and year. Our siblings are in the same age bracket and that made us more attached to each other. We attended the same elementary . Some times we walked to school and other times were dropped at school by each other’s parents. So moving meant trying to figure out how things were going to be. It took about 2 years before we also moved in the same area that they had moved into. Jesusssssss l must say that destiny had it’s course concerning our lives. When we moved to naalya we still had to go our school. Brenda’s Dad would drop us at school sometimes. Our family still went the same church which was Watoto and it was a bit far since we had moved house. Then after a couple of years we heard of a great church around our neighbourhood & we wanted to check it out. One of my friends invited me over & l felt l was home then l told my siblings about this great church. Then they also joined me for prayers after awhile.

Remember somehow our lives Brenda and l have changed school,friends,etc

Then l entered our new Worship Harvest church & l saw Brenda’s siblings .We were so thrilled to see each other,we started to scream. Everyone looked at us because it was so amusing and annoying for some people who didn’t get it.

We have history with this awesome family and till this very day we see each & link up. Brenda has 3 kids now she’s married to a man that loves her like crazy. I’m so happy about how life has turned out for both of us. I’m getting married soon so l know where to run for advise. When l lost my youngest brother they still were there for me & my family. It’s been a journey of growth and different experiences but still worthwhile.

These great friendship has stood the test of time.

So What?
It is true you don’t have a degree yet, it is also true that you are not married, you have no car, you haven’t built a house yet and many other things on the to do lists we set ourselves or better yet standards set by our peers or the world…. so what?….

Many of us or should I say quite a number of people feel bad about themselves because they haven’t yet achieved so many things and milestones by a certain date – what society describes as the standard of success.

The ironies of this day; you find a very brilliant lady with good education, a good job, and surrounded by people who love her, but she is unhappy because she is not married. Then another lady on the other side of town is married to a good man, but she is not happy because she has no degree.

This man is married to a hard working lady yet not educated, has a good job, a good car but hasn’t built a house….

Discontentment staring at them right there. How often we tend to project our happiness to what is missing.. “if only I could have that or the other….!” And when we get it, we realize we are still not happy, there’s more to reach for, in order to get maximum happiness. How wrong we are! What then could be missing , why aren’t we happy when we obtain the so-called objects / achievements of our ultimate happiness? It is simple. Celebrate what you have. For the bigger majority, instead of celebrating what we have, society has taught us to be unhappy because of things we don’t have, yet should be having at a certain age, or time. What we don’t realize is that at every level of life, there is something we certaily won’t have. Let it settle in you today, that no one has everything. So now if we concentrate on what we don’t have, we shall continually be sad. It is so true that life is great when you have its treasures, BUT real joy is not in having, but in being content and happy. If happiness was about having this and the other, we would never be happy, because at every moment, there is something we don’t have and would desire to get it. It’s interesting that one man, who has managed to build houses, drives a nice car, and has a good job, is so unhappy because she or he thinks he doesn’t have a perfect body.

That is how life is! You can never have all of your treasures because we desire for more and better each day. The key to happiness in life is in being grateful for who we are while pursuing what we want, be thankful at all times.
Take time to reflect on what you have, decide to celebrate everything you have been blessed with. I have seen people without cars walk proudly and are happy. While on the other hand, a man in an ML is grappling with serious self esteem issues. It’s not in what you have or don’t have, it’s in how you view yourself and what value you attach to your life. Never compare yourself with others, they are also dealing with things under whose weight you would collapse.
Start with what you have and God will bless the works of your hands.

My awesome travel adventure.

The desire to travel and experience something new, has always been one of my biggest fantasies. The planned day to do something exciting was finally here. I do not remember sleeping at all as the excitement coupled with a bit of anxiety, did not make it any easier. A Couple of friends and l, had it all planned out. The suggested dress code was blue Yeiiii. That morning was the rush hour kind, having breakfast and making sure everything is in place. I remember this particular friend of ours was delaying us and we were getting impatient.

When he finally he shows up, we sat in the car and started thinking of about, music, stories,…. What should we do first? We wondered. We had teenagers who tagged along. You can imagine the excitement in the car!. The students couldn’t wait to get to the resort.

oh dear…..

The excitement from the young people hit the roof. It was sharper than our dress code of blue. This experience was life changing for me because my only option was to go all the way up. First on our to-do list was swimming and taking pictures. Our next plot was zip lining. Honestly speaking l was scared because the small wooden stairs were shaky. And our guide told me there’s no way for me to turn back. I kept climbing up and this reminded me about my life’s journey. Sometimes you feel like a lot is going on and you want to go back to the old ways. But then God reminds you there’s more and better stuff ahead of you.

Keep pushing and pressing in on this amazing journey.

The Lord has prepared us for pleasant places to walk in.

Life has more to offer in all aspects.

That’s the big ideal.
